Everything you need to know about the rooms and the practicalities of the house.
Step into a cosy, open-plan living space that's perfect for family time. The warm, pine-finished lounge, dining area and kitchen create a sociable atmosphere where everyone can relax and unwind. The dining table comfortably seats six. After a day of adventure, gather round for meals, games or a movie night. We've stocked the cupboard with board games, jigsaw puzzles and cards to keep everyone entertained.
And for the adults, there's a cheeky little surprise: a secret honesty drinks cabinet by the wood burner. Feel free to enjoy a sip of rum, and just replace it if you finish the bottle.
The traditional wood burner is perfect for a snug, warm ambiance on chilly winter evenings after a day on the slopes.
The fully equipped kitchen has everything you'll need for a family feast or a quick snack, from a Nespresso machine for your morning coffee to a fondue set for a fun dinner. With a microwave/oven, fridge, separate freezer and four-ring hob, cooking in is easy.
Three spacious, comfy bedrooms (two doubles and one with a king-size bed), each with soft mattresses, cosy duvets and built-in wardrobes.
The wooden shutters are a dream for anyone who loves a lie-in. Close them at night and you won't realise it's morning until you wake up refreshed.
Need some quiet time? Head downstairs to the TV room. The large sofa is perfect for the kids to watch a movie while the grown-ups unwind upstairs. There's a big smart TV with Netflix, Disney+ and Amazon Prime (bring your login details!).
The room leads straight to the garage, where skis and boots are stored.
A balcony overlooking the valley to sit out on. It also leads down to the garden.
One bathroom with a shower and bath, plus a separate toilet.
The kitchen has an oven, hob, fridge, freezer, kettle, Nespresso machine and toaster. To use the hob, hold down the power button, then hold down the relevant ring to turn it on.
Mugs and glasses are in the high cupboard next to the cooker; plates and bowls in the low cupboard on the right. There are plastic cups for kids. Pans and mixing bowls are below the cooker, and tea is in the left-hand drawer near the kettle. The tap water is really cold and fresh, so there's no need for bottled water.
The fire is yours to use. If it's cold, it really makes the evening. We've left logs out and there are more beneath the balcony outside. Grab some kindling or an old newspaper when you're shopping to get it started.
The interesting-shaped metal tool above the fire opens the door: insert it and slide downwards. Once the fire is up to temperature, use the other end of the tool to pull the small puller at the top right of the door towards you. This reduces the air and lets it burn for longer. Push it back in before you open the door.
Thermostat-controlled underfloor heating keeps the base temperature reasonable, and the storage heater in the lounge does the rest. Keep its dial at 3 in winter and 2 in summer, with the bottom dial where the lines meet the orange pointer. Please don't touch the buttons.
That keeps the house at about 19°C; a fire takes it to 21–23°C. There's a thermostat on the wall in the middle of the room. Each bedroom has a heater (these rarely need turning on), and there's one in the reading room downstairs.
The garage is our boot room. It has a drain in the centre, and skis and snowboards go against the walls. The boot warmer is switched on at the side and, when on, runs overnight.
There's a wardrobe behind the lounge door (left-hand door) with hangers for coats and outdoor gear. In winter, hang coats here rather than in the garage or they'll be freezing in the morning. Leave only hardware in the garage: bring boots inside to the shoe rack in the hall, and if it's really cold, warm boots, goggles and gloves by the fire.
The chalet has fast Starlink internet.
Morzine Tourism also rent MiFi routers if you can't get data on your own device.
The right-hand door next to the wardrobe is the cleaning cupboard, mainly for the chalet cleaning company. Please only use the hoover inside the chalet (not for cars); it's a battery one. There are other cleaning products under the sink.
There's no roadside collection in Morzine. The nearest bins are at the base of the hill, just off the roundabout. Please take your rubbish and any glass or bottles with you when you leave and drop them there.
